The Gift of Tea

Marianne

teamap.jpgThe leaf that has been at the center of wars and peace, meditation and socialization, health and illness controversy, seems so full of mystery and intrigue. But it should not be a mystery to you. If you would like to develop a beginning knowledge of this ancient drink, there is still room in the class being held through the Old Orchard Beach/ Saco Adult Education program. The class will take place at Nellie’s Tea and Gifts next Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 2 to 4:00 P.M. To register or for more information, please visit their website at www.oobsacoadulted.com

Registration is ending soon. I hope to see you there!

ART WALK AND GALLERY 265 FIRST ANNIVERSARY!

Marianne

posteruj9_cropped1.jpegThe next Biddeford Art Walk, Thursday October 25, 2007 from 5 to 9:00 P.M. will be an especially gala evening at 265 Main Street. This will mark the first anniversary of Gallery 265. In celebration, the featured artists will be Shirley Sotir, coordinator and founder of the gallery, and Evelyn Moreshead, co-founder of the gallery. Both are extremely talented artists, working in pastels, water color, acrylics, and oils.

Nellie’s will be featuring live music by Melanie Lee playing the Celtic Harp. Melanie is an accomplished harpist and will provide a lovely ambience to the evening. In addition to meeting the artists, listening to the excellent music, and sharing in some light refreshments with us, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the soothing and eclectic atmosphere of the shop.

We are almost ready for Halloween, so don’t be surprised if you bump into a few creepy crawlies while you’re out for the evening. It may cause some goose flesh to appear on your arms, but a nice cup of tea and some treats will calm things right down.

While I’m writing, let me say that the trip to China was an amazing experience. So much so that I am still sorting everything out, both figuratively and literally. I hope that within the next week I will be ready to post some pictures and begin to write some highlights of the trip. I have come back with some treasured teas, teawares, and many images and memories. I thank you for your patience, and look forward to seeing everyone on the 25th.
